From the owners

We live around the corner from the bar and love everything about our nook of L.A. In such a sprawling city, we appreciate the rare opportunity to feel a true sense of local community in Eagle Rock.

It’s important to us to continue to improve the amazing atmosphere of our neighborhood. So we’ll be giving back to organizations who help make Northeast Los Angeles diverse, inclusive and welcoming.

Thanks for visiting us at The Fable! We hope our pub always treats you well (maybe not always the morning after). Cheers!

Organizations we currently donate to:

East LA Community Corporation

We propose tangible solutions to combating the negative effects of gentrification — displacement, development without community involvement — through our comprehensive programs and services composed around three core strategies: building community, asset development, and financial empowerment.

We believe in accountable, community-driven development, equitable housing, transformation through socio-economic justice, and building wealth through financial empowerment.

We envision a community where everyone lives with opportunity, dignity, and autonomy.

Downtown Women’s Center

The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women.

We envision a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Our mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy.

Homelessness is not inevitable, but a societal problem that bears especially hard on women. Ending women’s homelessness cannot happen alone. We need committed Los Angeles communities and people like you to help us change inequitable systems and individual lives.

Strategic Actions for a Just Economy

SAJE is a 501c3 non-profit organization in South Los Angeles. Since 1996 SAJE has been a force for economic justice in our community focusing on tenant rights, healthy housing, and equitable development.

SAJE has taken many notorious slumlords to court, has established a land trust, and helped implement innovative popular education programs. We run a regular tenant clinic, help connect local residents to jobs, and fight for community benefits regarding future development through private agreements and public policies.

We believe that the fate of city neighborhoods should be decided by those who dwell there and we convene with other organizations to ensure this occurs in a manner that is fair, replicable, and sustainable.

Los Angeles LGBT Center

Since 1969 the Los Angeles LGBT Center has cared for, championed, and celebrated LGBT individuals and families in Los Angeles and beyond.

Today the Center's nearly 700 employees provide services for more LGBT people than any other organization in the world, offering programs, services, and global advocacy that span four broad categories: Health, Social Services and Housing, Culture and Education, Leadership and Advocacy.

We are an unstoppable force in the fight against bigotry and the struggle to build a better world, a world in which LGBT people can be healthy, equal, and complete members of society.
